Five year mission?

We recently found a newspaper article claiming that S.P.O.C.K singer ’Android’ is just 27 years old and not the 32 years stated in his id. That would make Johan who was a member of the same group some five years younger… What really happened on that 5 year mission? Did time stand still? 🙂
